A one-bedroom apartment created, by MAX Build, out of a formerly dark, dingy and neglected basement in a 1930s building overlooking Bondi Beach is for sale with a price guide of about $800,000.

The unit is one of four new homes built in unloved and unused areas of the building in a project paving the way for crumbling old strata buildings throughout Australia to raise funds for vital maintenance, updates and renewal work, and to add new facilities.
